Follwowing the activities of the 55th year reunion for the KHS Class of '63, Margaret Shaw Kettle wrote the following newspaper release for publication in the Kenton Times. In Margaret's words....."On July 28, 2018, thirty-six members of the Kenton High School Class of 1963 and guests gathered at the Kenton Elks for dinner and shared memories. This was the 55th anniversary of their graduation. Attending classmates traveled from eleven different states.
Ellen Kaylor Toronto offered a poignant memorial service that remembered the lives of twenty-six deceased class members. That was followed by a beautiful rendition of "How Great Thou Art", sung by Connie Beazley and accompanied by her husband David.
Jim Holdgreve shared that more than $540,000 in scholarship money was awarded to this year's KHS graduating seniors. That continues quite a tradition of KHS scholarship funds through the years. Jim also offered a prayer before our meal.
After dinner, classmates and guests enjoyed cake that was decorated with an icing photo of the high school building where classmates graduated.
On Friday night the class enjoyed a casual gathering with food and drinks, generously offered at John and Gayle Dulin's home. Mike Westwood set up a wonderful slide presentation with photos of previous reunions.
The reunion steering committee, led by Jerry Stout, included John Dulin, Martha Hottman, Gary Oates, Lois Lautenschlager, and David Schwemer.
The journeys that the class members have experienced are wide and varied, but the common thread is KHS!!"
